It was the kids' idea!

In October 2009, the students of the Alban Success Club had the idea to take the success strategies to the radio.  It was a big dream!  All it took was hard work and perseverance, and they reached their goal.

First, we wrote a proposal to Steve Bishop and Jenny Murray of V-100 Radio in Charleston, West Virginia-- and they liked our idea!  We did some talking about it; we recorded the audio files.  After almost a year of working behind the scenes, Alban students made their debut airing the success strategies on the radio!  The Steve and Jenny Show will air the success strategy of the week each Monday morning at 8:20 so that all of the Alban students can listen school-wide.  On Tuesday mornings the success strategy will air at 6:50, and on Wednesday mornings it will air at 7:50.  Thanks, Steve and Jenny, for making our dream come true!

Roane County Schools Chief, Steve Goffreda, joins the success effort!

Steve Goffreda made the call-- himself!  He took me up on the offer of free success books for the schools in Roane County and was ready to help his students begin their study of the strategies that will help them to develop the habits necessary for success in school and life.  But he did more than pass out the books and encourage schools to get involved.  He offered his radio station to help spread the word!  This caring, hard-working superintendent airs the success strategy of the week four times each day, seven days a week.  That adds up to 28 public service spots for the Roane County listening area-- 28 repetitions of success lessons for students, parents, business leaders, and community members.  Thanks, Superintendent Goffreda!  We're glad to have you as a partner in this important endeavor!
